The team that works for the 13th Floor Haunted House reached out to us with complaints of possible hauntings. The building located at 1203 East Commerce Street in San Antonio, Texas 78205 houses a simulated haunted attraction. Famously known as The 13th Floor Haunted House. But in this case we found that the simulated haunted attraction is actually haunted.

The building was built in 1905 and at one time was known as the San Antonio Machine And Supply Company.

As we arrived for our investigation on the night of October 13, 2021 we were greeted by staff retelling ghastly stories about the specters they were experiencing. Doppelgängers, shadow people, disembodied voices, even physical contact being made by ghosts.

We met with attraction supervisor Bree who shared stories about the ghosts calling her out by name. This would later be verified as we conducted spirit box sessions throughout the night. Bree also shared with us stories of guests who claimed to see her doppelgänger in costumes she wore in previous years.

Next we talked to attraction manager Blaine who retold a story of an actor being pulled from the ankles by a doppelgänger that resembled him while performing inside the haunted house. The location where this physical contact took place is no longer used due to the actual fear of being touched by a ghost. This area is where we captured communication with our spirit box.

At this point we were ready to tour the building.

The team led us through the building leading us to locations inside where paranormal activity had occurred. One area shown was an old elevator shaft where it was said someone fell to their death.

After our detailed exploration of the building we asked to be taken to where the most activity had been experienced. That area is where the actor was grabbed by the ankles. In this area there is a rectangle cutout in the wall about waist high. The opening is then covered with a curtain. This area is where an actor can hide to scare people. An actor would be laying on a skateboard like rolling platform and attached to bungee cable to give a fast scare of popping out. Well one night an actor set in this location was pulled by their ankles in this spot. Since this incident no one has utilized this area. This is where we conducted a spirit box session and captured quite a bit of compelling evidence. For example, we heard voices come through and tell us about a burglary that had recently occurred at the haunted house. Staff gasped as they heard the ghost say the word “burglary”. When asked what that was about? The staff then proceeded to confirm they had recently had a burglary of the building. At this point we knew there was something extra special about the 13th Floor Haunted House. Not only is it haunted, it is haunted by intelligent ghosts who are taking note of what is going on around them. Chills from this session set in as we hear countless clues about the goings ons inside this haunted haunted house. We hear the names of people who work there. We were even told to come under the curtain (which naturally we complied). While doing this we continued to have our EMF meters on and detecting energy. Our digital recorders also captured many EVPs.

At this time we made our way through the building with our Spirit box communicating with the unknown. As we journeyed through the haunted house the feeling of being followed had us constantly looking back and seeing shadows on the wall that did not belong to us.

At the end of the attraction parked inside the building was an actual hearse that the 13th floor had acquired. This of course peaked our curiosity so we opened the back and got in. While sitting in the hearse that was again parked inside a haunted haunted house we captured an EVP that said “go away”.

The night was full of energy. At the conclusion of our paranormal investigation we can definitely say this location is haunted.
